Growing up in South Lake Tahoe, I spent countless hours along these shores fishing, swimming, exploring, and playing on the sun-warmed granite rocks. The crystal-clear water, luminous mountain air, and quiet strength of the landscape left a lasting imprint on me that still lives in my work today.
In this piece, I wanted to capture the clarity, calm, and magic of Sand Harbor — that feeling of looking through Tahoe’s turquoise water and seeing every stone below the surface, while the mountains rise quietly in the distance. The granite boulders, glowing water, and peaceful rhythm of the shoreline hold both memory and reverence for this special place.
My connection to art was also shaped early on by my grandmother’s artistic influence, which helped inspire my love for creating and for noticing the beauty, mood, and spirit of the natural world. This painting carries both that family influence and my own lived experience of Tahoe’s wild, healing beauty.
